Galatians Chapter Six Doing Good to All ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) What should you, who are spiritual, do if someone is caught in sin, why does Paul say to watch yourself, for what reasons does Paul say to carry each others burdens, and who deceives himself?
________________________________________________________________________________ No Christian should ever think that he or she is totally independent and doesn't need help from others, and no one should feel excused from the task of helping others. The body of Christ-the church-functions only when the members work together for the common good. Do you know someone who needs help? Is there a Christian brother or sister who needs correction or encouragement? Humbly and gently reach out to that person (John 13:34, 35). 2) Why should each one test his own actions, what should each one carry, and who must share all good things with his instructor?
________________________________________________________________________________ The second error that might keep
believers from bearing the burdens of another Christian is to be always
comparing themselves and their own work with others. This can be harmful both in
a positive sense ("I am doing better than they are") and in a negative sense ("I
am unable to do anything; everyone else is much better"). To counter both these
forms of the error, Paul suggests that each believer has a task from the Lord
and is responsible only to the Lord for doing it. To use others as a norm for
one's activities is a kind of escape, When Christians have their eyes on God
rather than on other Christians, then in their own eyes they will at best be
unprofitable servants (Luke 17:10) and God himself will receive glory
(2 Corinthians 10:12-18). (taken from The NIV Bible Commentary, Zondervan
Publishers) 3) What did Paul say not to be, whom did Paul say cannot be mocked, what does a man reap, what will the man who sows to please his sinful nature reap, and what will the one who sows to please the Spirit reap?
________________________________________________________________________________ It would certainly be a surprise if you planted corn and pumpkins came up. It's a natural law to reap what we sow. It's true in other areas too. If you gossip about your friends, you will lose their friendship. Every action has results. If you plant to please your own desires, you'll reap a crop of sorrow and evil. If you plant to please God, you'll reap joy and everlasting life. What kind of seeds are you sowing? 4) Why does Paul say not to become weary in doing good, and since we have the opportunity, who are we to be good to?
________________________________________________________________________________ It is discouraging to continue to do right and receive no word of thanks or see no tangible results. But Paul challenged the Galatians and he challenges us to keep on doing good and to trust God for the results. In due time, we will reap a harvest of blessing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not Circumcision but a New Creation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5) What does Paul use when writing in his own hand, who are trying to compel the Galatians to be circumcised, what is their only reason for doing this, who does not obey the law, and for what reason do they want the Galatians to be circumcised?
________________________________________________________________________________ Up to this point, Paul had probably dictated
the letter to a scribe. Here he takes the pen into his own hand to write his
final, personal greetings. Paul did this in other letters as well, to add
emphasis to his words are to validate that the letter was genuine. 6) What is the exception Paul gives for boasting, what doesn't mean anything, what did Paul say counts, and for what reason does Paul say let no one cause me trouble?
________________________________________________________________________________ The world is full of enticements. Daily we
are confronted with subtle cultural pressures and overt propaganda. The only way
to escape these destructive influences is to ask God to help crucify our
interest in them, just as Paul did. How much do the interests of this world
matter to you? (see 2:20 and 5:24 for more on this concept). 7) What did Paul ask to be with the spirit of his brothers at Galatia?
________________________________________________________________________________ Paul's letter to the Galatians boldly
declares the freedom of the Christians. Doubtless these early Christians in
Galatia wanted to grow in the Christian life, but they were being misled by
those who said this could be done only by keeping certain Jewish laws. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our Wrong Desires Versus The Fruit Of The Spirit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The will of the Holy Spirit is in constant opposition to our sinful desires. The two are on opposite sides of the spiritual battle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: Our wrong desires are: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Answers Galatians Chapter Six ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Restore him gently...or you also may be
