Wow...Can I be getting this big?

It is hard to believe that I am now three and a half years old. Mom tells me to stop growing so fast, but I just can't slow it down. So much has changed since my last update.

My preschool is going great!! I love my teachers and they help integrate my needs into the curriculum. I still don't like to interact a lot with kids my own age, but we all continue to work on this.
I am an expert on my dynavox and will tell anyone who will listen about my crazy cat, Tigger. I know exactly where items I want to say are located and use it to order food and drinks in restaurants. I tell mom every morning what I want for breakfast, even though she doesn't always agree with my choices.
I also put buttons together to make sentences. At school, the teacher integrates my dynavox within group lessons. Mom programs in things that we are learning that week and I use it during group time.

My voice has really come out during the last few months too. I have a verbal vocabulary of about two to three dozen words, but mom and dad seem to like it best when I say "I love you" which comes out distorted, but very understandable. Would you also believe that I can now verbally spell my name...with no shortcuts on Christopher? It is also distorted but understandable. I can say the whole alphabet myself and most of the letters can be understood (remember my passion has always been the alphabet). I am also counting on my own. Most of the numbers are not as understandable, but I say them the same way every time. My expressive language is really moving along so well, everyone is so proud of me. I continue to grow on my receptive language also. I understand most of what people say to me but I am still delayed in this area as compared to my peers.

I am doing really well physically also. I am walking and running now with few problems and have started jumping a little. I am dressing myself with little assistance and even dress my sesame street gang now and again.

Even though I face significant challenges compared to most kids my age, mom and dad always tell me that wouldn't want me any other way. They see my determination and perseverance to accomplish things that others thought could not be done.
