Hobbies:
Civil War Reenacting: I've been into Civil War Reenacting since 1988. I've done everything from being a drummer boy, to infantry, firing cannons, to now commanding an infantry company. I primarily do a Northern Impression, but have done Confederate at times as well. I love military history in general, and have done quite a bit of studying on the Civil War. My unit used to be the 52nd Illinois Volunteer Infantry. I was also the unit's commander and webmaster. Unfortunately, things have kinda fallen apart with reenacting these days. I still try to go out to a few things each year though.
I also enjoy watching movies of all kinds! I have quite a large collection of DVD and VHS movies. I enjoy just about every kind of movie, action, drama, comedy, war films, cult films, thrillers, and even some sci-fi. When I have the money, I also enjoy seeing a movie with friends in the theater! Some of my all time favorite movies are: Backdraft, The Boondock Saints, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Tombstone, Ride With The Devil, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers mini-series, and many more! I have even had the experience of being in a movie! I participated in the 1992 filming of the movie Gettysburg. It was a great experience, and gave me a lot of insight into what goes into producing a major film. I met most of the actors in the film as well!
When time permits, especially in the cold winter months I sometimes build plastic models, mostly WWII era tanks and aircraft. I'm also now trying to learn to play bass guitar.
And last but not least... I simply enjoy doing random stuff with friends... from parties to concert outings... whatever comes up.
This was just a random interesting sign my friend and I saw on Interstate 80.
