Time
Flies .
Bill Cosby. Bantam. 1988.
Book review by Tracey
My mother, who is only 63, kept telling me about a great Bill Cosby book
I should read about getting older. I assumed by her description that it
was a recent book, and because I love Bill Cosby, I asked to read it.
Somewhere in the back of my mind was the thought that Bill Cosby couldn’t
be only 50 because my mother is 63. Well, it will suffice to say that
when I actually borrowed the book I realized that Bill Cosby wrote it
in 1987! Now it all fell together! Old book or not, everything Bill says
in his book is still as relevant today as it was in 1987. In fact, as
I was reading some of the chapters on memory and the mind my thought was
that I’d been having the same problems at 20 that Bill was complaining
about at 50. What’s great about Bill Cosby is that he makes everything
ordinary seem funny, which is really nice when you are ready to scream
because you have just turned a light off that you were supposed to leave
on (for the millionth time). It really helps to remember the humor in
it. I identified with everything Mr. Cosby said, except for the gray pubic
hair, which I’m sure will come sooner or later! This is an easy,
short read, and I really enjoyed it.
