Welcome! to Book Reader's Traverse, a central place on the Web for enjoying books. Book Reader's Traverse sprang from a book reading club formed in Louisville, Kentucky consisting of six members. Each month, a member would choose a book to read for the group, and the following meeting would be devoted to discussing that selection.
The diversity of interests created the conditions for covering good topics. We also enjoyed the freedom of not having limits set insofar as genres and authors, date published, etc. We included both fiction and non-fiction works; we were not fixed by the current bestseller lists. This Web site is an effort to showcase our kind of reading style. The styles of the reviews are not necessarily consistent; some will be informative, others may analyze the book in the same manner we did during the book club meetings; some may address the reader, and others may be in third person. We generally are compiling all of our reviews as we go, and will try not to provide any spoilers.
This site is maintained by three former members of the book club--Joel, Tracey, and Jane. Each of us reviews the books we read or would like to add to the site. When there are reviews of one book by more than one of us, both reviews will be on the same page for ease of access in comparing notes. You will be able to locate the review on both Picks pages. The Picks pages contain each contributor's bio and selections. Some selections are reviewed by more than one contributor.
In the past, we've enjoyed hearing from other readers. We created a special area of the site dedicated to people who would like to review books for our site. If you're interested in reading what others review or would like to contribute, visit us at Traversing Guest Station.
