Book review by Jane
This book handled juggling four characters with ease, and I can say I didn’t
get lost once in the story regardless of the transitions. These books have a
reputation for being funny, and it was somewhat deserved. I did enjoy some laughs.
If you like to hear about what people are wearing at every turn and like to know their entire sex lives, then this book is definitely for you. Other than that, the book did have some depth into the storylines of the four women and their “missions” in the club they had formed. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t like to be in an adventure like the club offered its members. They each took on one of the other member’s problems and went about fixing the issues. The book was tidy in tying up the loose ends at the end of the story.
The four main characters are in their 50’s and 60’s, and that is how they named their club The Hot Flash Club. They start the basis for a series of books by the author.
I could recommend this book to some people. I’m not sure I will read any more of the series, though. The clothes thing and sex at every turn got to be a drag for me.
