George Washington's Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation (Little Books of Wisdom). George Washington. Digireads.com. 2006.

Book review by Tracey
Although this publication is attributed to George Washington, there is a book I did a recent review on titled: An Imperfect God, by Henry Wiencek. In this book, the author states that George copied these rules from another author. Whichever it is, I was curious about the so-called ‘rules’, and had to read them for myself. This is a short book of 110 rules to live by, and supposedly, George did. They are all good rules on how to conduct yourself in company. Interestingly enough most of them are still valid. It is a quick read, as you can imagine. I believe it took me about twenty minutes, and that was because I was drawing it out to make it last! I had to order it from Barnes and Noble, as they didn’t have any in stock. Perhaps George is more popular than I think. More along the lines of a Miss Manners in a pared down version.

Tracey.
