Darcy & Elizabeth: Nights and Days at Pemberley (Pride & Prejudice Continues)

Darcy and Elizabeth is a sequel to Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, also by Ms. Berdoll. It is five years after the Darcy’s marriage, and they are the proud parents of twins. There is much more scandalous behavior by Elizabeth’s sister Lydia, and by her supposedly dead husband Wickham. In fact, Wickham figures so prominently in this novel, that his name might as well have been in the title! Anyway, it’s fun to read about the bad guys. There are also a few other characters introduced that tie in with the first novel. I thought that Ms. Berdoll was very disciplined in trying to maintain the style of a Jane Austen novel, if not quite the content. Of course, I’m sure she will sell more novels to today’s reader that way. I found it a thoroughly enjoyable read.
