2061: Odyssey Three Book review by Joel This is the first Arthur C. Clarke book I have read. I saw the Space Odyssey movies, and when I saw this book at the Leavenworth book sale I figured it would be a good starting point. I'm not sure what I was expecting out of this book but I was hoping for some answers to the questions remaining from the first two; like what where the monoliths about, who made them, and were any apes harmed in the filming of "2001 - A Space Odyssey"? I don't know the answers to those questions. In fact, this book raised several more. But I have to say, it was a damn good book. All the questions it raised were interesting and his ideas on what would happen to a Jovian satellite like Europa if Jupiter were to become a sun were interesting. It definitely made me want to read 3001 The Final Odyssey I don't want to give away plot points, but I want to say how good an author Arthur C. Clarke is and how his environment is fleshed out, his characters are lifelike and believable. I recommend it. Joel. Visit Book Reader's Traverse Home Page for more selections.
