Blu Bi-U Shelties

Blu Bi-U Shelties is a small hobby kennel located in eastern Indiana.  We love our shelties because of their intelligence, loyalty and beauty.  We breed for temperament and soundness.  All shelties are raised in the home.  This gives them constant interaction with people and allows us to give them the attention they need.  Puppies are socialized from the day they are born.  I breed mainly for blue merles & bi blacks, but occassionally have sables & tri's.

The Shetland Sheepdog is a herding dog.  He is loyal, alert, compassionate, and above average in intelligence.  He resembles the Collie, but much smaller.  The breed standard is to be sound, agile, and sturdy.  He has a thick double coat which protects him from the sun and cold temperatures.  A sheltie should never be shave down close to the skin.  he should be groomed to have a natural appearance.  Shelties have a nature to pleaseand obey.  They are the easiest to housetrain.  He is successful in obedience, conformation and agility rings.  The breed standards are 13"-16" in size, almond shaped dark eyes(excetions to blue merles).  Head should be a long blunt wedge tapering slightly from ears to nose.  Top skull is flat.  The side view is flat, parallel planes, well-defined stop, and depth and finish of of underjaw.
