This
map illustrates the story related in Genesis 14. Four "Kings from
the East" (yellow arrows) defeat the "Cities of the Plain," including
Sodom, and carry away Lot with other captives. Abraham pursues and
rescues Lot (red arrows). On his return, in the King's Valley at Salem
(now Jerusalem), Abraham gives a tithe to Melchizedek, "priest of God
Most High," and receives a blessing. |
