Structured Wiring Project

This is a project I undertook mostly because I wanted to do it. My only "need" for this project was that I was getting married soon, giving me a second 27" TV. I only had one coax outlet in the living room and none in "our" bedroom. I also knew that I would be getting digital cable and wanted to be able to watch it in the bedroom as well. That meant I would need two coax cables running between the living room (where the digital converter box would be located) and the bedroom. I only had one computer at the time, but I wanted to learn something about networking and wiring, so I did some researching on the internet and came up with a plan. I built myself a new computer since this project and relegated my old computer to the wife so she'd leave my new one alone. Uninterrupted gaming makes me glad I did this project. The Plan

I did this plan in Visio Technical. I went through many formats before I finally decided on a final plan. I had really wanted to put this all in a cabinet, but that was just to much money. As it was, I think I spent about $700 before I had any real hardware. Almost everything was purchased on the internet, somehow that just seemed appropriate. Prices and vendors are listed on the diagram.
