This Plan is a culmination of many hours spent by the client and the planner on massaging the Concept Plan(s), meeting with the Zoning Board and addressing their concerns and, finally, determining the best uses of particular areas of the site.
The Master Plan is the "road-map" for the development of the cemetery for decades to come. The layout of major roads and memorials are established. Likewise, utilities are planned at this stage. It is the intent of Matherly Cemetery Planning that, once the Master Plan has been adopted, there be no major activities needed within the cemetery. All drainage matters, water features, and major construction will have been addressed and carefully thought out. Changes in the interment/inurnment market will not significantly impact the cemetery, no matter when completed during the life of the cemetery.
The Master Plan is also used as a sales and marketing tool.
