We are Don and Kelly Tracy Woods, and we live in beautiful LaGrange, Kentucky. We are small hobby breeders and exhibitors, and our Pomeranians live in the house as part of our family. Even though we do this on a small scale, we are committed to breeding for health and soundness to improve the breed, and to pursue perfection as dictated by the Pomeranian breed standard.

Our breeding stock will be tested for patella, thyroid, heart, and eye issues before they are bred. Also, our philosophy is to breed to males over three years of age that we know do not have, nor have produced, alopecia (baldness) problems. We also select females that have parents older than three years of age that we know do not have, nor have produced, the alopecia problem. This is a very serious problem for this breed, and over the years, it has become more widespread.

Along those same lines, we are very proud to be actively pursuing a disqualification for merle Pomeranians. Please make no mistake… the merle pattern was created by crossing our beloved breed with Shelties or Toy Aussies. This is not a historical Pomeranian color, and since it is a dominant gene, the only way it has “popped up” in the last few years is through unethical breeding and forging of AKC papers. This color also brings with it so many new health issues and concerns for our breed, including deafness, blindness, and physical deformities.
