ADAM DUANE WATSON was born February 7, 1974, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Harold and Wanda Watson. His father was in the Air Force, which resulted in frequent moves; Watson lived in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1976-1978, Louisville, Kentucky from 1979-1980, and Crete, Greece from 1980-1981. When his parents divorced in 1981, Watson moved back with his mother to Louisville, the hometown of both of his parents. In 1992, he graduated with honors from Jeffersontown High School. After meeting at a video store where they both worked, he married April in 2003. Their daughter, Ayla Rain, was born in 2004. They are also proud parents of two cats, Dixie and Bond.He is a Founding Member of the Louisville Cinema Society, and was on the Programming Staff of ConGlomeration, the largest annual sci-fi / fantasy convention in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

An alumnus of the University of Louisville, Watson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in English in 2005 followed by a MAT in Secondary Education (Concentration in English) in 2007. He currently holds an English teaching certificate for Kentucky (grades 8 - 12). From 2005 to 2007, Adam was a Theater Director (and taught Drama) at two public high schools. He has taught high school English classes since 2005. His teaching has also garnered accolades and press. Watson has been featured in OVEC Newsbytes (January 2006) and Bullitt County's The Pioneer News (Excellence in Education, March 2006).His students' podcasting site was the cover story of a January 2009 article in The Courier-Journal, mentioned in a NCTE INBOX February 3, 2009 e-newsletter (sent to 115,000 US and international subscribers),discussed in a related NCTE blog entry, and was featured as the cover story for the April 2009 issue of Kentucky Teacher. Watson was voted by his colleagues and faculty as the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year. In October 2010, Watson combined his writing skill with his teaching experience and published his first education article in NCTE's Classroom Notes Plus.

Adam Watson's theater career began at the age of twenty-one; in 1995, his play The Birdbath was produced by Bunbury Theatre. In 2001, he published two books, Lollygagged and Flannel Flogged (a book of poetry) and Frighten the Horses and Other Plays.

In 2002, he made his first panel appearance at ConGlomeration, and led a cast of volunteers as the writer / director / producer / Narrator / webmaster of The Rocky Horror Radio Show, a live musical drama broadcast on 91.9 WFPK-FM. It was the first time Watson had directed, produced, or acted.

In April 2003, Watson directed his play Your Browser Refreshes Every Thirty Seconds and recited his poetry at the Rudyard Kipling.In August, Adam worked for the first time on ConGlomeration's Programming Staff, leading several panels and presentations. On Halloween Night, Adam was the writer / director / producer behind Live From Waverly Hills, an original taped production broadcast on WFPK.Mark Borchardt, director / writer of Coven, star of the award-winning documentary American Movie, and actor of such films as Jet Li's The One, said: "The production [of Waverly Hills] was so well accomplished that not knowing at first if it was fact or fiction, I bought into it as a real event.The actors, as well as the technical rendering, were superb. A definite congratulations to Adam Watson and his crew."

In February and March 2004, Watson's play A Richard Donner Heaven debuted as part of Pet-Fish Theatre's 2004 Louisville Playwright Festival. In July, Watson was the Playwright Advisor in Kentucky Opera's VISIONS program, an innovative project where high school students write an original libretto honoring a prominant Kentuckian; the finished opera was performed at Kentucky Center's Bomhard Theater in May 2005. Also in July 2004, Browser made a second run at the Rud (directed and produced by John Hetzel) and his poetry was published in the July Vol. 3 edition of the lit mag Churches, Banks and Bars. In August, Adam gave an encore presentation of Live From Waverly Hills (as well as leading a "Making Of" panel) at ConGlomeration. In December, his poetry joined the gallery of artists at Insomniacathon 2004, the online version of the popular poetry and music festival.

In April 2005, Watson was the Production Manager / Assistant Stage Manager / Webmaster for Clive Barker's The History of the Devil at the Kentucky Center's MeX Theater. In August 2006, Watson returned to the director's chair with A Richard Donner Heaven, in its second appearance at the Rud.

In August 2005, Watson fulfilled a lifetime goal of becoming a high school teacher. From 2005 to 2008, Watson directed and produced several theatrical works at two different high schools, including such classics as Little Shop of Horrors, The Glass Menagerie, The Wizard of Oz, and The Odd Couple. (In fact, at each school, it was the first time in several years that a full-book musical had been staged.)

Watson's latest project brought him full circle to his first dramatic venue.He was asked by Juergen Tossmann, the producer/artistic director of Bunbury Theatre, to write a new play for their 23rd anniversary. Occasional Poisonings from the Kitchen premiered as part of Bunbury's The Honest Abe 23 Minute Play Festival in February 2009.He also filmed, edited, and designed the Festival's DVD.

Adam happily continues to teach while writing.
