I do not have a website, but I wanted to acknowledge my Father.
My father and his 3 siblings were abandoned by their father
when Dad was about 4 years of age. His mother left them in the
care of her elderly parents. My Father left their home about age
12 to work and send money home to his brother and 2 sisters.
When he married my mom, it was during the depression. We never
had a lot of money, but we had the kind of love and support a lot
of people never experience. He shared his love with all the
unemployed by giving them temporary jobs at his service station-
even though he couldn't afford it. He started Little League
Baseball in our home town for the local youth. He even supplied the
uniforms so they could play. He did so much for so many.
All this time, he had an inherited blood clotting disorder.
He never complained of the pain, or the problems that accompany
blood clots. After each hospitalization, he was right back
to work, so he could help someone else. His business went
bankrupt in 1976, and we lost our family home. Dad started all
over again. Working at odd jobs until his health forced him to
stop when he was 73 years of age. On 6 July 1998, my father passed
away as the result of a blood clot to his lungs.
He was so loved, and so many mourn him. Most people never
realized he had a medical problem.
Leland Carl Tovrea- 5th greatgrandson of Henry Sater and
Dorcus Towson Sater. He went with dignity and grace.
We miss him so much.
- NOTE: I received the following e-mail message on 8 September 1999 from

Hi, I do not have a web page but wanted to share for I feel this is
therapeutic.
My father has recently died of Cancer. To tell you that I miss him is
because of lack of better words. My mother's death was shocking and sudden
and 13 years later my dad's death is not easier. I don't know which is
easier because by far they both disrupt your life and being.
To my parents:
Rafael Rojas 10/24/27 - 7/4/99 &
Virginia Rojas 7/7/42 - 02/06/87
Life without you both will always be difficult. Waiting to see you both
again feels so far away. To know that I was immensely loved gives me
strength and that you are at peace lets me rest. Although I feel as if
though this is a terrible nightmare, you both have filled my life with
great strengths. I am not ready to say good-bye but I am content in knowing
that you are both in a better place. I love you both!
Love your baby daughter
Lucy Rojas
