Below Left: medieval artwork interpreting Hezekiah's near-death illness and Isaiah's visit bringing God's prophesy

Above Right: Hezekiah built a water tunnel, an engineering marvel, to bring water from the Gihon Spring in the Kidron Valley into the city of Jerusalem, so the city had a reliable water supply in time of siege. Workmen began at each end, cut through rock according to the above circuitous plan, with and met nearly perfectly in the middle. Below: Hezekiah's tunnel as it is today, going from the Gihon Spring (left), through the rock (center), to Jerusalem (right). The modern terminus in Jerusalem is not the orignial end of Hezekiah's tunnel, which was the Pool of Siloam.

Below Left: Pool of Siloam, terminus of Hezekiah's tunnel (Jerusalem Model, Holyland Hotel, Jerusalem). Below Right: Inscription found at the Joining Point of Hezekiah's tunnel (National Archaeological Museum, Istanbul).
