Personal Web Pages @ Insight Broadband is proud to introduce to our service subscribers the additional
ability to publish web pages from anywhere on the Internet via Secure FTP.
Subscribers can now transmit their web pages from anywhere: at home, at work, using a friend's computer, even
from AOL! We mean anywhere! Equipped with the proper FTP software, you can publish from anywhere in the
world just as if you were connected with Insight Broadband!
Whether you publish and connect from a LAN, or use a friend's DSL connection, or migrate to cable broadband, you
can still enjoy the speed improvements available to you from your connection as long as you are an Insight
Broadband subscriber! |
| What is Secure FTP with SSL/TLS? |
Secure FTP provides the capability of File Transfer Protocol plus the security of Secure Sockets Layer/Transport
Layer Security (SSL/TLS) for our service subscribers. Secure FTP with SSL/TLS protects your ID and password
from prying eyes when your login information travels through the Internet.
Many Internet subscribers already know about and use SSL as part of their web browser software to login to web
sites, conduct on-line purchases, and conduct commerce/banking transactions. Secure FTP with SSL/TLS
provides the same mechanism to protect your personal information when you connect to our FTP Server from the
Internet, then allows you to access your Personal Web Pages as if you were connected with Insight Broadband! |
| How do I use Secure FTP? |
Use "secureupload.insightbb.com" to connect to Insight Broadband Secure FTP Server from anywhere on the
internet. You need Secure FTP software to establish connection with Secure FTP Server from your computer.

If you are working from your home or another computer which is connected to Insight Broadband network, you can
also use FTP Service. |
| Why do I have to use Secure FTP software with SSL/TLS support for external access? |
Insight Broadband believes in protecting your personal information. When you are connected to Insight Broadband
via a direct connection, your FTP login information travel exclusively within our network and does not travel on the
Internet, therefore it is safe. However, external FTP access from the Internet means your data may travel through
many other computers not under our control, and your data is subjected to sniffing and other spying techniques
known to hackers of all kinds.
We take these important steps to safeguard your E-mail ID and password in transit. Remember to safeguard
your E-mail ID and password! If you disclose this information to unauthorized persons, they can can read your
private E-mail, or make changes to your Insight Broadband account. It is your responsibility to safeguard this
information including your e-mail password, like you would to protect your own credit card information!
