A Real Yaz Page

Just a place where I can keep some of the Yaz stuff I've collected for viewing, (mostly cards of course). I hope the images appear on your monitor as I've laid them out here. I've also included a Yaz wantlist for any interested friends. It's at the bottom.

1960  Topps Rookie Card                                             1961 Topps                                                1962 Topps
The 60 and 61 cards appear to be paintings. The same one too by golly!
                            1962 Post                                                              1963 Fleer                                                 1963 Topps
The three major card companies of the early 60s. Well, two little ones and Topps.

      1964 Topps                                                   1964 Topps                                                       1964 Topps LL
Plenty of cards for Yaz in 64. Doesn't that one in the middle look familiar?

                      1964 Topps Giant

These came in vending machines.

      1964  Topps Stand-Up                                      1965 Topps                                      1965 Topps Embossed

The Stand-up was neat and the 65 regular issue looks good but what the heck is that mess on the end?

          1966 Topps                                                      1966 Topps                                                    1967 Topps

Nice looking 66 card. The LL card shows another familiar shot taken from the 65 card.

                                         1967 Life Magazine

In 1967 Yaz was the man, making the covers of many major magazines. By the way, the above pictured Life magazine didn't come with that visable split across the middle. That was just some creative scanning on my part.

            1968 Topps Checklist                                   1968 Topps                                              1968 Topps All-Star
There are two variations of the above checklist, a little grammer correction on the ad on the back. One scan will do.

1968 Topps World Series                                                1968 Topps LL
Well, 1967 was a pretty good year for Yaz and the number of 1968 cards of his demonstrates this.

1968 Topps LL                                           1968 Topps Game                                   1969 Topps
Topps uses the same photo for the 68 and 69 regular issues and the Batting leaders shot comes from the 67 card. The Home Runs leaders picture is taken from his 66 regular issue.

1969 Topps All-Star                                            1969 Topps LL                                      1969 Topps Deckle Edge

Here's the rest of the 69s. I like that All-Star card.

Here is the Front and back of a 1969 Transogram box featuring Yaz,Oliva and Stottlemyre. They also came in individual boxes. The three-packs weren't quite as numerous in '69. They came out again in 1970 with the mostly the same players, only the cards were 1/16th inch wider. The figures are in a bubblewrap inside the box. Yaz, (on the left), has lost his Red Sox logo decal which is floating around inside the bubble wrap. Static electricity tends to make it stick to whatever it bumps into when I shake the box. If I shake it for 300 years, it may land back on his chest where it belongs.

I'm not sure of the year of this poster. It was given to me by John Nye (OBC). Yaz was still in the outfield and was still a big enough star to show up in an Illinois schoolhouse, so I'll put it here with the 60s stuff. By the way, Yaz did smoke.

If you got down this far then you either are looking for the wantlist which is just below or you like the scans. To lessen the loading time, I've divided the the stuff up. Page two has the stuff from the 70s and page three is the 80s and beyond. (The 80s links will become active when there is something to see there.)
