Season Recap -- 1994-1995

The Streaks finished 29-3 and finished in the Sweet 16.

They dashed through the Western Big Six. They steamrolled the regional competition and darted past sectional foes en route to a (then) school-record number of wins.

After going through the tough Western Big Six with an unblemished 10-0 mark, Galesburg posted its eighth straight regional title. Then while topping conference foe Quincy Sr. and Peoria Notre Dame in the sectional, they eclipsed their (then) school win mark set in 1992-93 (26-4).

The standouts were many for Coach Evan Massey's state ranked club. Bonny Apsey, a 6-foot-2 center, led the Western Big Six with a 16.3 scoring average. Even more impressive was her 70-80 (88 percent) shooting from the free-throw line.

5-9 guard Stefanie Mitchell also averaged in double figures with 11.1. She was a sharpshooter from behing the arc, hitting 36 treys in regular season play. Any of four other Silver Streaks (Sara Wood, 9.1; Molly Watson, 8.5; Jennifer Bulkeley, 8.3; and Gina Miller, 5.4) could lead the team in scoring on any given night.
