Season Recap -- 2003-04

The state record of 9 straight sectional championships in a row (which is both a boys and girls state record) will remain just that....for now. This year's Streaks were unable to add to their record as they lost in the sectional semi-final. But the Streaks posted a 29-4 record, were rated as high as #9 in the state, and won their 11th conference title in the last 15 years. Galesburg started the season 15-0 before losing twice after Christmas, then went on to win 14 of their next 15 games before the sectional loss.

Seniors Jenna Bicego (9.4 ppg, 7.7 apg) and Brittany Stephan (8.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg) started all 33 games for the Streaks as did junior LaToya Wright (15.9 ppg, 8.8 rpg). Bicego and Wright were named to the WB6 all-conference first team while Stephan was named honorable mention all-conference. Wright was also named first team Class AA Peoria Journal Star All-Area team. Wright was also named to the IBCA All-State third team, and Bicego and Stephan were named Special Meniton All-State.
