Season Recap -- 2002-03

Galesburg returned 4 starters from a team that reached the Sweet 16 a year ago and used that experience to make a return trip to the state finals for their 7th state finals appearance in the last 8 years. Galesburg put together an 18 game win streak in the 2003 portion of their season and claimed their 16th consecutive regional championship and posting a state record 9th straight sectional championship. The Streaks used a stingy defense allowing only 41 points a game to amass a record of 32 wins and 4 losses.

Seniors Amanda Gunther (15.4 ppg), Annie Parkin (7.7 ppg), Elizabeth Hauslein (3.2 ppg), Alison Bauchman (4.1 ppg) and junior Jenna Bicego (8.3 ppg) started all 36 games for the Streaks. Senior Casey Berry, junior Brittany Stephan and sophomore Sade Boyd all logged heavy minutes for the Streaks. Galesburg's sophomore team went 23-0 on the year.
