Jaque Howard- Assistant Varsity Coach

Jaque Howard begins her first year on the Galesburg coaching staff joining as assistant varsity coach. Howard was a three year starting point guard for the Streaks from 1997-2000. The Streaks went 94-11 with three Elite Eight appearances, a second-place finish in 1999 and a fourth-place finish in 2000. She finished her career as Galesburg's all-time assists leader (592) and 3-point shooter (175 made).

"During her three years she was the best point guard in Illinois," Massey said. "She was mentally one of the toughest players we have had. As a point guard, she was fantastic in her ability to understand our offense and make the appropriate calls. She was really an assistant coach on the floor for three years as a player. She comes in knowing our system."

After high school, Howard went on to a four-year basketball career at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and served last season as an assistant at Knox College. Jaque graduated from SIU-Edwardsville in December 2004. In May of 2007, Jaque recieved her masters degree from WIU in Sport Management.
