Christmas is the season when most Christians have chosen to honor the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  It is a holy and joyful time, and one that we should cherish with thanks to God the Father for sending His Son, who came to seek and to save those who are lost.

Luke 2:1-7 reads:
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. (KJV)

It was this child who grew in grace, and then died on the cross for our sins.  It was this child, and no other, that we must worship as Lord and Savior.  There are so many poor, deceived souls that are celebrating the birth of a different Jesus, and we, as Christians, must understand how they have been deceived or we, through ignorance, could very well not carry out the great commission that Jesus gave to us in Matthew 28.  Don't be fooled by the hymns sung by the Mormon Tabernacle choir.  They are not singing the praises of our Lord and Savior.  They are singing to a false Christ.

The Mormon Jesus: Mormon scriptures say, "Every person who was ever born on earth was our spirit brother or sister in heaven. The first born to our heavenly parents was Jesus Christ". (D & C 93:21)  "He is thus our elder brother". (Discourses of Brigham Young, p.26)

"But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers..." (Jess L. Christensen, Director LDS Institute)

According to Mormon apostle Bruce R. McConkie: "he (Jesus) was born in the same personal, real, and literal sense that any mortal son is born to a mortal father,...he was begotten, conceived, and born in the normal course of events" (Mormon Doctrine, p.742) - i.e. by sexual intercourse between Father-god and his daughter Mary.

But the Bible says ..."a virgin shall conceive" (Isaiah 7:14).  The Bible also says that Jesus Christ is and always was God.  Mormons say that Jesus had to learn how to become "a God".  Please pray for and witness to the Mormon people.  They desperately need the Real Jesus and His gift, Eternal Life.

The Jehovah's Witness Jesus: Although JWs do not celebrate the birth of their Jesus, they still have a false Christ and a false Christ child.  The "Watchtower" teaches that Jehovah God created Michael the Archangel before the foundation of the world; Michael was His only begotten son by virtue of the fact that he was the only creature directly created by Jehovah.  It was this created Michael who became the JW Jesus. "Since actual conception took place, it appears that Jehovah God caused an ovum or egg in Mary's womb to become fertile, accomplishing this by the transfer of the life of his first born son (Michael) from the spirit realm to the earth"  (Aid. p. 920)

Marvelously, Jehovah transferred the life-force and the personality pattern of his first born heavenly son (Michael) to the womb of Mary. God's own active force, his holy spirit, safeguarded the development of the child in Mary's womb so that what was born was a perfect human" (Reasoning, p.255)

Who can blame the Witnesses for not wanting to celebrate the birth of this strange, mythical child.

The "Jesus of lesser lights": As with other New Age/pantheistic groups, Unity distinguishes between Jesus the man and Christ, the divine consciousness.  This view of the Christ child is also shared by the Christian Science church of Mary Baker Eddy.  Unity states, "Jesus represents God's idea of man in expression; Christ is that idea in the absolute." Unity draws a similar concept of the birth of Jesus as many other New Age cults.  The Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, pp. 345-346 states: "In the individual consciousness the meaning of Jesus' being born in Bethlehem of Judea is that the principles of truth have laid hold of the intelligent substance of Spirit (Bethlehem), and through praise (Judea) have brought the Christ into manifestation.  It is wise to protect the newborn spiritual consciousness from contact with Herod, the personal ego, Herod seeks 'the young child to destroy him', but under the guidance of Spirit no harm comes to the child.  He is taken into Egypt (down into the protected places of the subconsciousness), to remain until the personal ego destroys itself; then the Christ child is free to come forth and express."

One can only wonder about this strange birth these people are celebrating, and who or what is the child they are calling the "Savior".

Whether or not you as Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, please, during this upcoming holiday period, pray for those that are looking to and trusting in a false Jesus for their comfort and salvation.
