Witnessing Classes May be Over….   by Ken Speer

but the sowing and reaping have just begun!

After going through 8 weeks of training, including 16 hours of classroom and 8 hours of door-to-door witnessing, the 14 people who completed our witnessing course at
Sulphur Creek Bible Church in French Lick are eager to continue and better prepared to "seek and save that which was lost". Through those 8 weeks, concluding August 16th, we saw a lot of progress and made a lot of inroads into the French Lick and surrounding communities. Not only did four people commit/recommit their lives to Christ, many hearts were deeply touched.

Sending out as many as 5 teams at a time, we debated, defended, compelled, and prayed with dozens of families, all right there in their living rooms or on their front porches. The most important thing we did, though, was love them and represent to them the love of God. We approached them in the name of the Lord and it made a lasting impression. People were deeply moved to hear that God is thinking of them. Some were persuaded while others were left with something to think about.  Still others decided that it was time to begin attending church again.

I was extremely pleased with those that took the class. Without their willingness to put forth the effort (which was significant), do their homework, and just plain be serious about reaching the lost, the class would not have been nearly as successful. The class members were excited at the beginning of the course and, I think, grew even more excited as we progressed. They even described door-to-door witnessing as "fun" (can you imagine that?). It was very gratifying to hear them plan for future outings without me, keeping the program going. Lives were changed, eyes were opened, much area was covered, and the community is being awakened. It is limitless how much can be accomplished as the class continues going out into the world to present the gospel of Jesus Christ and the God of Christianity to a lost and dying world. We are grateful that God has honored us by calling us to be fellow-laborers with Him. We greatly sensed the anointing of the Holy Spirit as we witnessed and conducted each class. Our  comfort zones were stretched and we were rewarded for being willing to be stretched. All in all, it was just a class that I will always remember. They proved that witnessing is not dead. Indeed, it is remarkably effective. It works! People are hungry out there. Let's take them the Bread of Life!

If your church is interested in checking out our witnessing classes, just give us a call. We'll be glad to explain what is involved.  Perhaps you, too, can discover the joy of witnessing. Perhaps your community will be forever changed. Perhaps there will be people in Heaven because you were willing to be stretched.

Perhaps!

Witnessing Class Concludes  by Ken Speer

After 8 weeks of door-to-door witnessing and apologetic training, including 16 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of actual hands-on door-to-door witnessing, this class was still excited and eager to reach out to the community in ways rarely done by Christians. The witnessing class broke up into teams of 2 or 3 people every other Saturday, going out into the streets of our city. Having 12 people in the class, this meant up to 5 teams canvassed the area. Each trip was concluded by a brief time of sharing reports of the day's experiences. As you might imagine, many lives were touched. The "reports" were exciting and humbling. Many in the community were challenged, loved, and prayed for. The class would wipe away tears, themselves, as they described how touched the people were to whom they had shared Christ's love. Many "out there" would just bow their heads and weep as we reached out to them in God's name. The pain in our community runs deep. They are looking for answers. If they won't come to us, we have to take the answers to them. Thanks to Tabernacle of Praise for daring to allow a witnessing class in their church. Thanks to the class members that were brave enough to sign up for the class.
