On Friday September 15, 2006, as part of the United Way Day of Caring, five women volunteered  to build the new board walk. Four were from Bristol-Myers Squibb and one from Whirlpool. In one day the volunteers built a new boardwalk about 100 yards long on a part of the Newburgh Trail that is always muddy during the wet session (all of 2006!!). River City Ramblers gave $600 to the Nature Center to pay for the materials. A board with our club name will be added as soon as it can be made. Thanks to all who contributed.

Leaving the Nature Center, follow the Newburgh Trail.. Near the fence angle left and continue on the Newburgh Trail along the fence. After a few yards you will come to the new boardwalk on a part of the trail that was often muddy.
