Start Point: John James Audubon State Park Office. 2910 US HWY 41N Henderson, KY  Telephone 270 862-2247

Hours: Park office open 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Closed Thanksgiving and New Years Day, and one week at Christmas. Walk must be done in daylight hours.

Awards: This is a credit only event. Credit is $3.00. Those not wanting to walk for credit may walk for free. No refunds given. This walk qualifies as a State Parks in the USA.

Registration: This is a self-registration event. Go in the Park Office and ask for the Volksmarch (walk) box. Follow the instructions in the box to register for and participate in this event. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. You must fill out a start card, and on completion of the walk place it and money if applicable in the SASE and mail. In registering for this event you are expected to observe the rules of the park.

Trail Description: The walk is a 3+ on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the most difficult. The trail is in the Kentucky State Nature Preserve, on park paths all in a forest settings. There will be some difficult terrain and steps. The trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. No pets are allowed in the Nature Preserve. Sturdy shoes and hiking stick are suggested. You may wish to carry water.

Directions: The park is located in the northern outskirts of Henderson KY. Coming from the north or south take US 41 to1/2 mile south of the Ohio River Bridge. The entrance is on the east side of Hwy41.
