Ave Maria
Watercolor on Bristol board with foil gilding The Illumination takes it's inspiration from several 15th Century Dutch manuscripts. Icons such as the Golden Swan and the Thistle have been worked into the design in a manor frequently found during this period to add a personal touch. The Hail Mary Prayer, which was used in Rome as early as the 7th Century, has been translated into Latin. More information regarding the history of the Hail Mary can be found here. |
