2006 Williamsburg Church Softball League

Awards Ceremony/Pitch-in rescheduled for September 9 at 12:00 noon.

The awards ceremony pitch-in for the Williamsburg Church Softball League will be held on Saturday September 9 at 12:00 noon in the
church Fellowship Hall.  Please join us for an afternoon of fellowship and good food.   In addition to the end of season awards, we will
talk about possible changes for next year and we will be inducting 2 new members into the League Hall of Fame.

I will be providing an entree, plates and plastic ware,  and some drinks.  I ask that you bring a covered dish, chips, dessert, or drinks.  Please
RSVP via e-mail to let me know how many will be attending and what you will be bringing.  My e-mail address is
"carter.chris @ yahoo.com".  I have already received 2 RSVPs and know that potato salad is coming.  I know that we all enjoy the fellowship
and the food.

Again, I thank all of you for helping to make this summer, the 20th year of the Church Softball League, a success, and look forward to
seeing you next year.

In Christ,

Chris

2006 Tourney Results

The 2006 Williamsburg Church Softball League tourney was played on Saturday July 22, 2006.

The 5 first round games were all decided by run rule.  The games in round 2, the semi-finals, and the finals were all
close, exciting, 7 inning contests which featured clutch hitting and many outstanding defensive plays.   None of the 11 games
were decided by the time limit that was established for the tourney.

Congratulations to Centerville Christian, the 2006 tourney and overall champions, Williamsburg Teen, the 2006 tourney
runner-up, New Life Holiness, the 2006 regular-season champions and overall runner-up, and Sylvan Nook, third place
in both the regular season and tourney.

Here are the tourney results:

July 22 Tournament Results

A complete posting of the regular season, tourney, and overall standings can be found on the standings page.

It was fantastic to see players and spectators from other churches stay after their team had lost in order to
watch the other games.  I have grown to appreciate this type of sportsmanship and support, and it means a lot to me.

All in all, I felt that this was an excellent season, and I appreciated all the support I received this year, particularly during the
time I have been recovering from my knee surgery.  Bob Bowman spent on average 6 to 8 hours per week working on the
field after I had my surgery and was unable to do so.  Tim Frame sprayed the infield, foul lines, and warning track several
times this season.  I hope I can enjoy more time on the field with all of you next year.

In Christ,

Chris
